Description
A child minder looks after your child, aged between 2 months and 4 years old, at her home. They are trained and approved by the Conseil Général.

Employed by the Family creche, managed by the local authority. the children come together at a Group Creche for activities once or twice a week run by the manager.

To find the list of approved child minders ask your local authority, a Child and Mother Protection Centre (centre de Protection Maternelle et Infantile), a Medical and Socail Office (Circonscription d’Action Médicale et Sociale) or a centre for child minders and mothers (relais Assistantes Maternelles-Parents).

Description
A child minder looks after your child, aged between 2 months and 4 years old (until 6 yrs for after school care), at her home. They are trained and approved by the Conseil Général.

An independent child minder who Plays the same role as a state childminder and is also authorised by the state but he/she is not part of the Family Crèche and is paid directly by the parents. This person is followed by the appointed qualified paediatric nurse.

She benefits from the support of their local centre for child minders (Relais Assistantes Maternelles-Parents), or the one run by the Conseil Général (regional authority). They can also be helped by the child minders associations.
