The legendary blues guitarist... None could have expected the small Mexican town of Autlan de Navarro to produce one of the greatest blues-guitar legends of our time. Yet that modest pueblo is the place where Carlos Santana came into the world in 1947. Since, Santana has known global success, lifting him to the officious yet no less prestigious status as one of the greatest guitarists of all time. It was a little before Woodstock in 1969 that his band was noticed and subsequently invited to the mythical festival. With the song Soul Sacrifice, a moment that went down in musical history thanks to the Woodstock film, Santana's first album recieved the publicity it needed and deserved. The following 30 years were a stream of successful performances, of which we will always remember some of the legendary tracks such as Samba pa ti, Black Magic Woman, Oye como va, Europa and Evil Ways, or lately with Smooth, Maria Maria, Illegal and Into The Night. With over 50 million albums sold over the years and a plethora of awards, Santana will never go out of style.
